Lets do something for society (Housing society included :)..... )

there is one popular quote of John F. Kennedy -"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

It seems that present crop of us Indians have not heard or read this quote. Nobody does anything for country, state, neighbourhood and society. They expect all things will be done by some government agency (or they feel that one day they will get up and all the problems will be gone).

Even people who are not paying their dues for tax, electricity and water abuses the government for not doing anything.

In fact people are not clear about "Government". They think prime minister, president and bunch of cabinet ministers are government and they can do every thing and they possess all the resources. People are also under the impression that if these people are honest, then whole country will become honest and corruption free.

Sadly, this is not true. If so called aam aadmi (we - the common man) take his duty seriously and abide by all the laws and follow civic etiquettes - we do not need any help from anybody. We all the time criticise, criticise and just criticise. I start observing from the morning that most of the people (whether working for himself, for private employer or working for government) do not perform their duties sincerely. It starts with ME, I tried to avoid household work, skip my workout and try to shift blame on weather conditions, or on something other.
Then - Security Guard of my society (stretching legs on another chair, not wearing his uniform properly, not being alert at gate, not stopping outsiders etc. )
Then people at Milk Booth, not waiting for their turn, not keeping space between themselves etc.
Then people going to office driving in wrong side to jump slow traffic, not driving in their lanes, not stopping at traffic signal.
Then traffic police constable not doing their job strictly. Then me again -after reaching office late, checking my fb account, doing personal work like shopping online (and sometime offline too), talking to colleagues about tv shows and movies etc.

To be short, everybody is not contributing enough and we ourselves are not doing or taking our duties seriously and blaming others. If a security guard has to stand at gate for 8 hours, why cant he do his duty efficiently. What the others - government or political parties have to do with this. If I have to go office why I cant reach on time, why we all start for office at 9 in the morning. why we cant check our facebook account at home....

So if we are not doing our duty sincerely, not paying our taxes honestly, they why to expect honesty and sincerity from political leaders or policemen, after all they also selected/elected out of us.

think man!
